Hope Faith partners with many service agencies, including Happy Bottoms (diapers), Giving the Basics, (hygiene items), and Salvation Army (Supportive Services Veterans and Families).
Our medical, dental and vision care services are available to the homeless and to low-income area residents. In collaboration with World Outreach Foundation, the Smile Salon and Kansas City Free Eye Clinic, over 120 men, women and children receive care and prescriptions from dedicated volunteer medical personnel every month!
Hope Faith Ministries moves homeless men and women who qualify for the 12 to 18 month Transitional Internship Program (TIP) through a step-by-step process, preparing them for purpose-filled, independent lives. The focus of the program is on transforming lives by addressing the complex and crucial spiritual, physical and emotional needs of every intern. TIP participants meet with their coaches and class leaders weekly to attain a variety of job-readiness and life skills including, but not limited to, financial management, interpersonal relationships, job skills and computer skills.
The program’s core values are:
TIP participant Brenda Jones says, “Because of the TIP, I know where I’ve been and I know where I’m trying to go! The TIP helps the homeless to better themselves.”
The mission of our Community Garden is to make healthy food available, affordable, and enjoyable to a community plagued by homelessness and great need. We intend to create an environment where families can learn to grow, cook, and enjoy meals together.
Started by members of the Pryor Leadership Studies Program at William Jewell College, the garden was officially opened in April of 2013. The garden features 24 raised beds with varying produce, fruit trees, herbs, a water fountain fixture, and a gourd house pergola. In addition to planting and harvesting fresh fruits and vegetables, the renovation of Hope Faith’s T1 women’s housing will include a community training kitchen where cooking classes will be offered to the public.
Garden Hours: Saturdays, 9-11am
The garden is open to the public every Saturday from 9am-11am. During the harvest season, the garden will be open for harvest from 9am-11am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Hope Faith Ministries has a Pay What You Can policy for receiving produce from the garden, but a donation of $15 is suggested.
